In a heartfelt display of camaraderie and support, the Blue Knights Kentucky XI Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club (LEMC) organized the much-anticipated “Ride 2 Remember” event on Saturday, August 19th, 2023. With a mission to commemorate and pay tribute to fallen law enforcement officers, this event was nothing short of a moving testament to the dedication and sacrifice of those who serve and protect our communities.

The Blue Knights Kentucky XI LEMC, known for their dedication to fostering camaraderie among law enforcement officers and motorcycling enthusiasts, pulled out all the stops to ensure that this year’s Ride 2 Remember would leave a lasting impact. This year’s event aimed to support the Kentucky Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation (KLEMF), an organization dedicated to honoring and remembering the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving their communities.

The event saw an impressive turnout, with 95 riders revving up their engines in a unified display of support for KLEMF. Departing from Richmond and culminating in Somerset, Kentucky, the ride itself was a visual spectacle and a poignant reminder of the unity and solidarity that exists among law enforcement personnel and their supporters.

One of the standout moments of the event was the unwavering generosity demonstrated by Steak N Shake in Richmond, Kentucky, which donated a total of 150 meals to the participants. This gesture showcased the local community’s commitment to honoring and supporting their law enforcement heroes.

The Blue Knights Kentucky XI LEMC extends its deepest gratitude to Knights Pharmacy Berea, ProRider Richmond, Simply Bluegrass, Richmond Athletic Club, FoxTrot Tactical/Foxtrot Equipment Co., Insurance Marketing Group- Randy Hall, and Richmond Masonic Lodge for their vital contributions to the event’s success. Their commitment to the cause played an integral role in ensuring that this tribute to fallen officers resonated with attendees. We want to also acknowledge the support of the Lexington Police Department Motor Unit and the Kentucky State Police for providing the escort to keep all of the event’s riders safe.

The poignant moments of the event were further enriched by the stirring rendition of the National Anthem, performed by the talented Geneva Miller. The Color Guard, provided by Madison Central JROTC, added a solemn and respectful touch, emphasizing the solemnity of the occasion. They were accompanied by Eric Garner, who provided bagpipe music. The event’s atmosphere was further enlivened by the musical talents of 242 Productions, setting the stage for a day that blended heartfelt reflection with community togetherness.

The Blue Knights Kentucky XI LEMC’s “Ride 2 Remember” event was undoubtedly a touching and meaningful way to pay tribute to Kentucky’s fallen law enforcement officers while showcasing the strength and unity of the community that stands behind them. As the engines roared and the sunset on the event, one thing was crystal clear: the memory of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice will live on, and their legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
