This 38-mile trail will take you on a meandering journey through the untouched landscape of Historic Breathitt County, Kentucky. Along the way, you can stop at our Elk View observatory tower and witness the thriving Elk herds that inhabit the Kentucky section of the Appalachian Mountains. This results from a Federal and State Elk reintroduction initiative in the mid-90s, which has been a true spectacle of nature. You will love our region’s breathtaking scenery and hospitable people.
